INSANITY TALES II IS NOW AVAILABLE
Books & Boos Press is excited to announce the release of Insanity Tales II: The Sense of Fear. This anthology showcases six of New England’s finest storytellers in a terrifying collection out just in time for the Halloween season.
Insanity Tales II features ten short stories and a novella. David Daniel (Goofy Foot, Reunion), Stacey Longo (Ordinary Boy, Secret Things), Dale T. Phillips (A Memory of Grief, Shadow of the Wendigo), Rob Smales (Dead of Winter, the upcoming Echoes of Darkness), and Ursula Wong (Purple Trees, the upcoming Amber Wolf) contributed two short stories each. Vlad V. (Brachman’s Underworld, The Moon is Dead!) wrote a novella for the collection.
Each story focuses on a sense—not just the traditional ones of sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste, but also of intangible ones, like a sense of justice or impending doom. The result is a suspenseful and terrifying anthology. Multiple Stoker Award winner Joe McKinney wrote the foreword, and said “If you haven’t read any of these authors yet, I envy you, because you are about to have a truly great reading experience.”
Insanity Tales II: The Sense of Fear is available on Amazon in print here or as an e-book here. It is also available wherever books are sold. For additional works by these talented authors, their first anthology, Insanity Tales, is also available here.
Books & Boos Press is Proud to Announce the Acceptance of ‘Echoes of Darkness’
Books & Boos Press is excited to announce that we will be publishing Echoes of Darkness, a short story collection by award-winning author Rob Smales.
Smales is the author of Dead of Winter, which won the Superior Achievement in Dark Fiction Award from Firbolg Publishing’s Gothic Library in 2014. His short stories have been published in two dozen anthologies and magazines. His story “Photo Finish” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize and won the Preditors & Editors “Readers Choice Award for Best Horror Short Story of 2012.” Most recently, his story “A Night at the Show” received an honorable mention on Ellen Datlow’s list of the Best Horror of 2014, and was also nominated as best short story by the eLiterary Festival of Words.
Echoes of Darkness is a compilation of both previously published stories and new works by Smales. “Rob brings a unique voice and chilling tone to everything he writes,” says Stacey Harris, managing editor for Books & Boos Press. “We’re proud to be able to publish his first short story collection to showcase his dynamic talents.”
Echoes of Darkness is scheduled for release in 2016.
