Your ‘Three A.M. Wake-Up Call’ is Available

We have released the final installment of the Terror Project series, THREE A.M. WAKE-UP CALL, this past Tuesday (June 5).

In coordination with our new release, we’re putting the first two books in the Terror Project on sale:

TRIPLICITY and THREE ON A MATCH will be $9.99 (30% off) for the paperback and $1.99 for the e-book (50% off) from June 4–10.

TRIPLICITY will also be coming out on audiobook any day now (I received an email from ACX on Wednesday saying it was “heading to retail,” but no indication of when it will be available). Tony and Rob, I’ll update you when it’s available.

THREE ON A MATCH is heading into audio production now, with an anticipated October release date for the audiobook. Then our narrator will move on to the final book.

Terror Starts at ‘Three A.M.’ in June

Books & Boos Press is pleased to reveal the cover for our upcoming release, Three A.M. Wake-Up Call. The third and final installment in the Terror Project series, the collection features three novellas: “Chew Toys” by Nick Cato, “Clinton Road” by Rob Watts, and “Roons” by David Daniel. 

The cover was created by artist A.L. Cortez, who designed the covers for Triplicity and Three on a Match, the other two books in the series. “I wanted each book to share elements that tied them together—the recurring central figure, whom I’ve come to think of as a ‘terror muse’—and repeating illustrations forming a pattern in the background. But I also strived to make each cover uniquely its own.”

The stories in Three A.M. Wake-Up Call bring the series to an end by returning to more traditional, haunting horror. Cato’s “Chew Toys” answers the question, What if Son of Sam killer David Berkowitz wasn’t lying about his neighbor’s dog ordering him to kill? with entertainingly gruesome glee. Watts’s “Clinton Road” follows the path of a woman struggling with the disintegration of her marriage who takes up residence on a road steeped in urban legend and rumored paranormal activity. The collection ends with Daniel’s “Roons,” in which a man in his middle years returns home to find a haunting mystery that has waited decades to be unearthed.

Three A.M. Wake-Up Call is scheduled for release the first week of June.

INSANITY TALES II IS NOW AVAILABLE

Books & Boos Press is excited to announce the release of Insanity Tales II: The Sense of Fear. This anthology showcases six of New England’s finest storytellers in a terrifying collection out just in time for the Halloween season.

Insanity Tales II features ten short stories and a novella. David Daniel (Goofy Foot, Reunion), Stacey Longo (Ordinary Boy, Secret Things), Dale T. Phillips (A Memory of Grief, Shadow of the Wendigo), Rob Smales (Dead of Winter, the upcoming Echoes of Darkness), and Ursula Wong (Purple Trees, the upcoming Amber Wolf) contributed two short stories each. Vlad V. (Brachman’s Underworld, The Moon is Dead!) wrote a novella for the collection.

Each story focuses on a sense—not just the traditional ones of sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste, but also of intangible ones, like a sense of justice or impending doom. The result is a suspenseful and terrifying anthology. Multiple Stoker Award winner Joe McKinney wrote the foreword, and said “If you haven’t read any of these authors yet, I envy you, because you are about to have a truly great reading experience.”

Authors of ‘Insanity Tales’ to Appear at Queen City Kamikaze

Authors David Daniels, Stacey Longo, Dale T. Phillips, Vlad V., and Ursula Wong will be appearing at the Books & Boos’ tables at Queen City Kamikaze. They will be signing copies of Insanity Tales, a collection short stories and one novella with a foreword by award-winning author Jonathan Maberry (Rot & Ruin). 

This will be the first time all five authors will be available to sign this collection so come to Queen City Kamikaze and enter a world of madness as you find out about these nine tales of twisted psyches, peculiar people, and demons of the mind and spirit.

The authors will also participate in a panel, Writing, Editing, and Collaborating on a Book, at the convention.

Queen City Kamikaze happens on March 7 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 1 Crusader Way in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Meet ‘Insanity’ Authors this Weekend

This weekend readers can meet the authors of Insanity Tales at two different places.

Stacey Longo is one of the five authors in the collection. She will be signing the book at Vermont Comic Con on Saturday and Sunday at the Sheraton Hotel located at 870 Williston Road in Burlington, VT. The convention’s hours of operation for Saturday is 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

2014-10-23 01.30.13The other authors in the anthology will be at the Brew’d Awakening Coffeehaus on Sunday. Authors David Daniel, Dale T. Phillips, Vlad V., and  Ursula Wong will start signing copies of Insanity Tales at 1 p.m.

Author Stacey Longo will have copies of Insanity Tales on hand at the Books & Boos table at Rock & Shock this weekend. She will also be on a panel with Joe Knetter and other authors at 12 p.m. on Saturday. It’s the perfect time to ask her a question about this collection from Books & Boos Press.

Dale T. Phillips and Vlad V., two authors in the Insanity Tales anthology published by Books & Boos Press, will be signing copies of the book at Haunted Acres in Candia, New Hampshire this Saturday, Oct. 11, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
