‘Triplicity’ Cover Reveal

Books & Boos Press is pleased to reveal the cover of our upcoming release, Triplicity: The Terror Project, Volume 1.The book is a collection of three novellas: “Brando and Bad Choices” by Stacey Longo, “Steel” by Tony Tremblay, and “The Christmas Spirit” by Rob Smales. It is the first installment of a three-book series.

The cover was designed by A.L. Cortez, and sets the theme for the series. “We wanted to convey that you can pick a card—any card—and get a hell of a story,” stated Jason Harris, Marketing Director. “The cover encapsulates that perfectly.”

Triplicity is already receiving advance praise. Author Melissa Crandall (Weathercock, Darling Wendy and Other Stories) said of the collection: “The ingredients in these three tales form a rich stew with a bit of something for everyone: an unexpectedly spirited Christmas, a taste of post-apocalyptic treachery, and a view of hell that’ll make you careful what you wish for. Eat hearty!”

Jeanette Andromeda at horromade.com called it “. . . a collection of three very distinct stories that, despite their differences, create a creepy yet heartfelt collection of horror and suspense that is entirely worth reading. 5 out of 5 blood spattered stars.” (You can read her full review HERE.)

Triplicity: The Terror Project, Volume 1 will be out just in time for the holiday season.

Norwich Author’s First Children’s Book Focuses on Friendship and Not Judging Others

Norwich resident Terry George will make her debut as a children’s book author with Sasha & Jake, released October 4 from Farmer’s Daughter Press.

George, a former resident of Willimantic, wrote and illustrated the book. Her artwork and writing has been included in the Ledyard, Connecticut Bill Library’s Exquisite Project as well as in themed art shows at the Gallery at the Wauregan in Norwich. Two of her short stories, written under the pen name Ryanne Strong, have been published in the anthology Tricks and Treats: a Collection of Spooky Stories by Connecticut Authors. When she’s not writing, Terry sculpts home décor and jewelry from polymer clay for her company, Cinnamon Bunny.

Sasha & Jake is the tale of Sasha, an Arctic fox befriended by a polar bear named Jake. The other animals of the tundra are afraid of Jake, simply because he has sharp claws and big teeth. Sasha must decide for herself if Jake’s appearance as a scary bear or his kindness and generosity are what’s most important. “We jumped at the chance to publish this book,” said Farmer’s Daughter Press editor Stacey Harris. “The story is charming, the illustrations are adorable, and in the end, it sends a positive message to kids to not judge others by their appearance.”

Sasha & Jake is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and select retail outlets. You can purchase the paperback here and the e-book here.

Meet Dan Foley, author of ‘Abandoned,’ this Friday

2013-08-19 12.23.58-2

Author Dan Foley is celebrating his new book’s release with a launch party at the Bookclub Bookstore & More. He will be reading and signing copies of his new book, Abandoned, at the event, which starts at 5 p.m.

Foley’s latest book tells the tale of a Connecticut man with abandonment issues. The book is set in the fictional town of Mettabasset, the Connecticut landscape serves as the backdrop for the novel.Adobe Photoshop PDF

Foley has lived in Manchester for over 30 years. The main character in Abandoned, James Sutton, “needed to be in a location where his job would take him to several states in a matter of hours,” Foley says. “The town of Mettabasset appears in many of my works … I’ve lived all over the country, and chose Connecticut as my home. My books always pay homage to Connecticut in one way or another.”

Abandoned is not for the squeamish. The main character is, at heart, a psychopath, on a mission to make sure nobody—and nothing—is ever abandoned again. He begins to amass a collection of items that James feels were neglected by people … all of which require formaldehyde to preserve.

Abandoned is available in trade paperback and ebook at AmazonBarnes & Noble, and select retail outlets.

The Bookclub Bookstore & More is located at 100 Main St. in Broad Brook, CT.

The event starts at 5 p.m. and runs until 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
